The timing belt replacement interval has also been reduced since your vehicle was built / service book printed. Peugeot are currently on generation 4 timing belts for these engines. A 2013 would have had the 1st generation wet timing belt.

I am looking in internet cases of Peugeot enrgine problems. I have Peugeot 2008 from 2017', engine PureTech 1.2, 81 km. Problems with oil pressure has started, I went to sercive ccentre and they asked me horrible amount of money to fix it, puttting blame on me (I had done 2nd check up of the car after advised 15 000 km).

However, in Citroen's favour, although the car doesn't have a full Citroen service history they are fitting a new engine FOC. I believe it is the 1.2 130 Puretech engine which is well regarded on this site. Ironically, he apparently chose petrol because he knew it would be doing low mileage but needed to accommodate 4 car seats.

The 1.2 PureTech engine from Peugeot / Citroen is controlled by a timing belt running in oil. Originally intended to be low-maintenance, it turns out that the belt’s coating comes off well before the first replacement interval and the belt swells. Loosened timing belt parts enter the oil circuit and clog the suction strainer of the oil pump.

I once had a 2.9 Granada with a Cologne V6, huge chunk of iron churning out 150bhp and 170 ft lbs of torque. Now I see the new citroen puretech 1.2 3 cylinder with almost as much power, more torque and it fits in your pocket (almost). I remember when the magic Japanese motorcycles arrived in the late 60's, so much power from such small engines
